A New Niece!

Thirteen days after our son was born, he got a brand new cousin! Selah Hope LeFavour was born to Kim and Jake Saturday, December 13th in Arizona. Isn't she BEAUTIFUL?! This is Jake and Kim's 3rd child -- they have 3 kids!!! We miss them all so much and hope we are able to see them at some point during the new year. Congratulations, Jake and Kim and welcome Baby Selah!

Bringing Home Baby

Our first week home with Derek went really well! We are having so much fun with him already, although a bit sleep deprived. Here are some pictures of our first week as a family.

It's a BOY!

Derek Reid Eddy was born Sunday, November 30th, 2008!

We are so thankful that labor and delivery went very smoothly and that our little boy is healthy.

We love him so very much already and feel so blessed to have this new life in our lives!

39 Weeks

Well people, we're hoping this is the last post of the pregnancy pictures. I am 39 weeks plus a few days pregnant and ready to have this Baby!

These pictures were taken this evening after what was hopefully my last prenatal doctor's appointment. We thought it was so funny that Ryan had blue on for a boy and I had pink on for a girl. tee-hee!

The appointment went really well, and I am progressing well. My midwife says Baby is in a great position for birth. It could be any day now!

Our hospital bags are packed and ready to go. We've got the car seat pretty much installed, and Baby's room is just waiting for his/her arrival.

I am so big I cannot reach my toes, therefore I HAD to treat myself to a pedicure. I couldn't go alone, so I begged Kim to get her toes done with me. Thankfully, she didn't need much convincing. We had such a relaxing and girly pampering time. I just wish I would have brought my camera! Our feet look so good!

Baby Shower

This past Sunday Ryan's family threw a baby shower for me! They really went all out and didn't miss a thing. I felt so spoiled and special...this Baby is loved so much already! We had a great time, and Baby got some really wonderful things! I wish I had pictures of the shower to post.

This picture of Angela and me was taken that day. It was so great to spend time with our dear friends Daren and Angela. We hadn't seen them since either of us moved back to Indiana from Colorado. Angela is due in March with a baby boy! It is so exciting to be pregnant at the same time. :)

Not too much longer now. There are just 3 weeks left (hopefully) of this pregnancy. Ryan and I are getting so excited to meet this kid and to finally find out if it's a girl or a boy! What do you think?

35 Weeks

Here I am one week shy of 9 months. I swear my belly (and everything else) grows everyday. Things are progressing well. My Midwife says I'm growing a really nice baby and that we've got a thumb sucker. tee-hee.

I still feel great, although tire out easily. Unfortunately, sleeping through the night doesn't exist anymore. Oh well.

On a side note, Ryan and I spent the morning at the New Haven BMV. Because we moved from out of state we had to take the written portion of the driving test! Whhaaaaa??! So annoying.

Tickled Pink 2008

My dear friend Kimberly works for Vera Bradley, which is not only an elite handbag company, but also quite an advocate for the the research of breast cancer.

Tickled Pink is a ladies night out/silent auction event Vera Bradley puts on every year in order to raise money for breast cancer research. Kim gave me the opportunity to volunteer at the event, and I'm so glad I was in town for it this year.

It was a spectacular evening! Vera Bradley does not skimp on anything from aesthetics to food and drinks to decor. Kim was in charge of decorating for the entire event. Everything was just beautiful and so perfect. The picture is only a glimpse of all she put together. She is so talented and has quite an eye for detail.

An obvious highlight of the evening was the announcement that the foundation has raised over one million dollars this year! How wonderful!!

Another highlight was the entertainment of Delta Goodrem. She is a cancer survivor, and her mother battles breast cancer. Delta is THE pop star in Australia. It was a treat to see such a celebrity at a small venue in Indiana of all places. And what was so neat was that she (and her fiance) were genuinely happy to be there and had a great time. She is absolutely gorgeous, totally flawless, and every woman in the room wanted to look like her.

It was such a fantastic evening with such purpose. Thanks, Kim for giving me the opportunity to be there!

We're back!

Due to an overwhelming demand, the Eddy blog will now resume. Haha, just kidding. We did have one request however. So Angela, this one's for you. ;)

We are now officially Hoosiers again! We made the move a couple weeks ago. We got in at 4am on a Monday, and Ryan started his first day on the new job. Bless his heart. We were both exhausted from the move and drive across the country, but thankful we had a safe trip. We felt really good about the fact that our house was under contract before we left. However, just a few days prior to closing we received word that the buyers lied about their income (how stupid can ya get?), thus the contract fell through. The news was hard to take especially because we left all of our appliances as well as other specific things that were included in that contract. Plus, who do we get to mow the yard? Ugh. Thankfully we have another contract that is pending on the sale of the buyers home in Oregon. Ooooh, we hope it sells FAST!

My parents have been so gracious to let us stay with them until we find a home of our own. I'm trying to do everything I can so that we don't become a burden. It's been really nice to have the time to grocery shop, cook meals, do laundry, and keep things clean especially because they both work full time (plus WAY too many overtime hours).

People, I'm slowing down in this 3rd trimester. The energy I normally have isn't up to par. I do not like this as I'm a person who likes to constantly be on the go. I've been requiring a lot more sleep than usual, but I know this is normal at this stage of pregnancy. There are 8 weeks to go! And I hope they go quickly. We need to get another belly pic posted, but I have no idea the exact location of our camera amidst the piles of boxes in the garage.

On a side note, it's raining today. And I absolutely love it. :)

Random Thoughts

well, I really don't have time to be blogging right now considering the fact that we are moving in less than a week. There is SO much to get done! Life is a little overwhelming right now, but I need a bit of a break. So, I blog.

The Jonas Brothers get on my last nerve anytime I happen to hear one of their screechy, annoying songs on the radio or catch a glimpse of them on tv. Why on earth are they all the rage right now? There's not much talent or personality there, if any in my opinion.

The fact that we are leaving Fort Collins has not sunk in yet. I've spent the last couple of weeks preparing for the move and saying goodbye to friends. It still hasn't hit me because I've been focused on what needs to get done and picturing what our new life will look like in Fort Wayne. Even though I am elated to return near family, I know I will cry Sunday morning as we leave the house we made our home. It will be strange to never return to the places and people that have become familiar over the last few years.

This is week 29 of the pregnancy! Baby moves all the time and is definitely getting bigger. My new favorite game to play when Baby is active is called "name that body part." I learned that at this point Baby can open and close it's eyes and will turn it's head toward a source of light. Some say that it can even see silhouettes of people!

I have quite a few thoughts on today's politics and the presidential race as does everybody else. It has been an interesting race so far, but I will be glad when it's all over (as long as it turns out the way I want it). ;) I won't take the time to put down all my thoughts, but all I'll say is Sarah Palin has impressed the socks off of me! You go girl.

Okay, back to my list of things to get done. Wish me luck!

27 Weeks

This week marks the end of the 2nd trimester! Let the baby countdown begin as we enter the 3rd trimester and have 13 weeks (give or take a couple) left of pregnancy (yay!).

Baby loves to move all the time. The other night there was either a head, shoulder, or bottom bulging from my belly. I was able to cup my hand around it!

I am still feeling great and hope this continues throughout the 3rd trimester.

Baby Shower

Our neighbors Heather, Sheila, Jen, and Lindsay threw me a baby shower the other weekend! They really went all out and made me feel so special. It was a fun afternoon, and it was nice that so many were able to be there. Baby Eddy got some really nice and adorable things! It is crazy to believe that we will be using all of these baby items in about 13 weeks!

Welcome Home Punk!

It is so great to have Ryan back home. He was gone for 10 days in Indiana for business and then in Malibu for Jake Reynolds' wedding.

He was in Fort Wayne for a weekend house hunting with our realtor and Pop. They were able to look at 31 homes in 2 days! Out of the 31 we now have our list narrowed down to 4. It was a fun and successful weekend for him.

That week he was able to stay with his parents as he met with his new manager and did field rides. He is already loving his new job and seems to connect well with his manager. We are so thankful!

The following weekend he flew to California for Jake's wedding in Malibu. Obviously he had a great time spending time with college friends, and the wedding was absolutely beautiful.

I am so thankful to have Ryan home again. He was greatly missed by Collin and me, although Collin stepped up to the plate by being man of the house while Daddy was gone. haha.

More Birthdays

Happy Birthday Jacob and Buggy!!!

August 14th was Jake's 28th Birthday. It sounded like he enjoyed his day by relaxing and going out for pizza. Yay!

Today, August 16th is Buggy's 2nd Birthday. It's hard to believe Elijah is already 2 years old. We wish him the most fun birthday! Have a great day, Bug!

(FYI: This pic is really old, but the most recent we have of them.)

AAHHHH!!!!

Goodbye Colorado, hello again Indiana! Ryan has accepted a position with a genetics testing company called Myriad, which will relocate us to Fort Wayne, Indiana!!!! Yes, I am totally flipping out and am beyond thankful and excited to have the opportunity to be home again near family and friends (especially with our first kid on the way!). Ryan is just as excited, and he really thinks he is going to love his new job. We are both ready for the many changes that are about to happen.

Our house is up for sale, and it is priced to sell as we need to be in Indiana the 3rd week of September. My parents graciously offered to open their home to us until we find a home of our own. We are thankful we will be able to crash with them for a while so that we aren't forced to buy something in a total rush.

In some ways it will be sad to leave Fort Collins. What a fantastic town! We have been fortunate to belong to an amazing church with wonderful people who warmly welcomed us from day one. We will miss the views of Colorado, the vibrant blue sky, the mild winters, and hikes. However, family is so much more important than mountains, and the timing of our move couldn't be more perfect. I am thankful for the time Ryan and I had in Colorado even though it was difficult for me to be away. And I am thankful for the opportunity to return home. :)

6 Months

This is me at 24 weeks. We've made it to the 6 month mark! Baby is around 8.4" in length (crown to rump) and weighs about 1.5 lbs. The eyebrows and eyelashes are complete, and the ears are in their final position. The inner ear is fully developed, which means Baby's sense of balance is functioning. Baby is aware if s/he is upside down or right side up.

There are 3 weeks left in the 2nd trimester, and I am feeling great. I feel really fortunate to have had such a healthy pregnancy so far.

Ryan is doing really well, too. He is getting anxious to become a Dad, and there's no doubt that he will be the best!

August 3rd

Happy Birthday to Aunt Rita and Samara!

The only picture I can find of Aunt Rita is from Christmas. She is the one in the green on the right (obviously.) Anyway, we wish you a very Happy Birthday!! You deserve the very best!

Samara Love (aka Sweeters) turns 1 year old today! This is the most recent picture we have of her that was taken a while ago. I'm sure she has changed and grown quite a bit since then! You are so presh. We miss you, and we hope you have a very happy 1st Birthday!!

Weekend Update

It has been a really good weekend. We got a bunch of little house projects completed (things we wish we would have done 3 years ago!) and we still had time for fun.

Friday evening we had dinner at Coopersmith's downtown with Ryan's co-worker Blake. What a great guy. We had a fun time sitting on the patio chatting and people watching. CSU students are back in town, and they were definitely out and about. It is so much fun to live in a college town.

We got up fairly early Saturday morning to take Collin to the barbershop. He looks so cute with his new summer 'do. Thankfully they cut his ears short this time so that he looks like a little boy. Last time they left his ears so long that they looked like girly pig-tails.

Keah and Steve were in town from the Springs, and we were able to meet them at Mugs this morning for coffee before church. (Mugs serves great coffee, and the iced americano I had was so good!) It was great to see Keah and Steve. We hadn't seen them since their wedding day in early June! It was nice to get caught up with them, and we hope to see them again in a couple of weeks.

The rest of the day will be spent organizing kitchen cabinets (Ryan is working on that now), listening to the thunderstorm (cozy), and working out at the gym and/or taking Collin for a walk.

I'm so thankful for the weekends. :)

Emily's 24th Birthday

Tuesday, the 29th was Emily's 24th birthday. I'm so glad she was still here so that we could celebrate with her. We took her to Old Town for dinner and ate at our favorite Italian restaurant called Bisetti's. After dinner we came back to our house for birthday cake and presents. She then headed out to Jackson's to celebrate with her friends. She had a lot of people there to help her celebrate, and it sounded like she had a great time.

20 Week Ultrasound

First of all I apologize for the horrible quality of these pictures. We don't have a scanner, so we did our best by taking a digital picture of the picture...totally lame, but better than nothing. :) Anyway, we had our 20 week ultrasound yesterday. It was such a cool experience that definitely made the pregnancy seem more of a reality for both of us.

We are so very thankful to report that at this point we have a perfectly healthy baby! All the organs are there and are functioning properly and are the correct proportions. This kid would not quit moving! I feel it move constantly throughout the day. The ultrasound tech said there is quite a DANCER in there. :) It was so cool to see baby yawn, suck, flip, and kick. The tech said the kidneys are working because the bladder was full as was the stomach. At this point the baby weighs .92 lbs. and it's cheeks are starting to fill out. We were sure to let the tech know we want to keep the sex of the baby a surprise. It's kind of crazy and exciting to think she knows what it is, but we don't.

The first picture is of baby on it's right side looking directly at you. Do you see the eyes, nose, and chin? The big mass to the right of the face is the Buddha belly as the tech kept referring to it (cute).

The second picture is of baby lying on it's back, looking up. The head is on the right. The arm is the big thing sticking up, although Ryan keeps trying to convince me it's something else. Ha!

We are so thankful everything is going really well at this point. We're just over halfway through the pregnancy, but are getting really excited to meet this kid!

Birthday Lunch

Last Tuesday was my 29th birthday! Depsite the fact that Ryan was unfortunately out of state, it was a great day! I got so many phone calls and cards that really made me feel so special. Thank you! I was able to celebrate by having lunch at P.F. Chang's (yumm!) with Sissy, Angela, and Beth. We had a fun time, and I am thankful I was able to get together with them.

Hiking Horsetooth

Last Saturday we enjoyed the day with our good friends Daren and Angela. They came over for a leisurely brunch and then we were off to hike Horsetooth. It's about a ten minute drive from our house to the base of the mountain. We had such a fun time, and the weather/temperature couldn't have been more perfect. However, a word to the wise: Never wear a tank top while hiking. My shoulders got so burned and I didn't have sunscreen on them. (Do not tell Aunt Rita about this.)
Now, I have to say I kind of want to brag about climbing this mountain, in record time I may add,
while being 5 months pregnant. :) Hence the picture of Ryan and I on the very top with his hand on my belly. Booya!

19 Weeks

Here I am at 19 weeks. Thankfully I feel fantastic and am continuing to grow. We have an ultrasound scheduled for next week where we could find out the sex of the baby. However, at this point we are still wanting to be surprised at the birth!

Baby is doing a lot of kicking. Feeling (and seeing) that is a neat experience. We learned that the kid is about 5-6" inches in length, and is larger than my hand.
