35 Weeks

Here I am one week shy of 9 months. I swear my belly (and everything else) grows everyday. Things are progressing well. My Midwife says I'm growing a really nice baby and that we've got a thumb sucker. tee-hee.

I still feel great, although tire out easily. Unfortunately, sleeping through the night doesn't exist anymore. Oh well.

On a side note, Ryan and I spent the morning at the New Haven BMV. Because we moved from out of state we had to take the written portion of the driving test! Whhaaaaa??! So annoying.

Tickled Pink 2008

My dear friend Kimberly works for Vera Bradley, which is not only an elite handbag company, but also quite an advocate for the the research of breast cancer.

Tickled Pink is a ladies night out/silent auction event Vera Bradley puts on every year in order to raise money for breast cancer research. Kim gave me the opportunity to volunteer at the event, and I'm so glad I was in town for it this year.

It was a spectacular evening! Vera Bradley does not skimp on anything from aesthetics to food and drinks to decor. Kim was in charge of decorating for the entire event. Everything was just beautiful and so perfect. The picture is only a glimpse of all she put together. She is so talented and has quite an eye for detail.

An obvious highlight of the evening was the announcement that the foundation has raised over one million dollars this year! How wonderful!!

Another highlight was the entertainment of Delta Goodrem. She is a cancer survivor, and her mother battles breast cancer. Delta is THE pop star in Australia. It was a treat to see such a celebrity at a small venue in Indiana of all places. And what was so neat was that she (and her fiance) were genuinely happy to be there and had a great time. She is absolutely gorgeous, totally flawless, and every woman in the room wanted to look like her.

It was such a fantastic evening with such purpose. Thanks, Kim for giving me the opportunity to be there!

We're back!

Due to an overwhelming demand, the Eddy blog will now resume. Haha, just kidding. We did have one request however. So Angela, this one's for you. ;)

We are now officially Hoosiers again! We made the move a couple weeks ago. We got in at 4am on a Monday, and Ryan started his first day on the new job. Bless his heart. We were both exhausted from the move and drive across the country, but thankful we had a safe trip. We felt really good about the fact that our house was under contract before we left. However, just a few days prior to closing we received word that the buyers lied about their income (how stupid can ya get?), thus the contract fell through. The news was hard to take especially because we left all of our appliances as well as other specific things that were included in that contract. Plus, who do we get to mow the yard? Ugh. Thankfully we have another contract that is pending on the sale of the buyers home in Oregon. Ooooh, we hope it sells FAST!

My parents have been so gracious to let us stay with them until we find a home of our own. I'm trying to do everything I can so that we don't become a burden. It's been really nice to have the time to grocery shop, cook meals, do laundry, and keep things clean especially because they both work full time (plus WAY too many overtime hours).

People, I'm slowing down in this 3rd trimester. The energy I normally have isn't up to par. I do not like this as I'm a person who likes to constantly be on the go. I've been requiring a lot more sleep than usual, but I know this is normal at this stage of pregnancy. There are 8 weeks to go! And I hope they go quickly. We need to get another belly pic posted, but I have no idea the exact location of our camera amidst the piles of boxes in the garage.

On a side note, it's raining today. And I absolutely love it. :)

Random Thoughts

well, I really don't have time to be blogging right now considering the fact that we are moving in less than a week. There is SO much to get done! Life is a little overwhelming right now, but I need a bit of a break. So, I blog.

The Jonas Brothers get on my last nerve anytime I happen to hear one of their screechy, annoying songs on the radio or catch a glimpse of them on tv. Why on earth are they all the rage right now? There's not much talent or personality there, if any in my opinion.

The fact that we are leaving Fort Collins has not sunk in yet. I've spent the last couple of weeks preparing for the move and saying goodbye to friends. It still hasn't hit me because I've been focused on what needs to get done and picturing what our new life will look like in Fort Wayne. Even though I am elated to return near family, I know I will cry Sunday morning as we leave the house we made our home. It will be strange to never return to the places and people that have become familiar over the last few years.

This is week 29 of the pregnancy! Baby moves all the time and is definitely getting bigger. My new favorite game to play when Baby is active is called "name that body part." I learned that at this point Baby can open and close it's eyes and will turn it's head toward a source of light. Some say that it can even see silhouettes of people!

I have quite a few thoughts on today's politics and the presidential race as does everybody else. It has been an interesting race so far, but I will be glad when it's all over (as long as it turns out the way I want it). ;) I won't take the time to put down all my thoughts, but all I'll say is Sarah Palin has impressed the socks off of me! You go girl.

Okay, back to my list of things to get done. Wish me luck!

27 Weeks

This week marks the end of the 2nd trimester! Let the baby countdown begin as we enter the 3rd trimester and have 13 weeks (give or take a couple) left of pregnancy (yay!).

Baby loves to move all the time. The other night there was either a head, shoulder, or bottom bulging from my belly. I was able to cup my hand around it!

I am still feeling great and hope this continues throughout the 3rd trimester.

Baby Shower

Our neighbors Heather, Sheila, Jen, and Lindsay threw me a baby shower the other weekend! They really went all out and made me feel so special. It was a fun afternoon, and it was nice that so many were able to be there. Baby Eddy got some really nice and adorable things! It is crazy to believe that we will be using all of these baby items in about 13 weeks!

Welcome Home Punk!

It is so great to have Ryan back home. He was gone for 10 days in Indiana for business and then in Malibu for Jake Reynolds' wedding.

He was in Fort Wayne for a weekend house hunting with our realtor and Pop. They were able to look at 31 homes in 2 days! Out of the 31 we now have our list narrowed down to 4. It was a fun and successful weekend for him.

That week he was able to stay with his parents as he met with his new manager and did field rides. He is already loving his new job and seems to connect well with his manager. We are so thankful!

The following weekend he flew to California for Jake's wedding in Malibu. Obviously he had a great time spending time with college friends, and the wedding was absolutely beautiful.

I am so thankful to have Ryan home again. He was greatly missed by Collin and me, although Collin stepped up to the plate by being man of the house while Daddy was gone. haha.
